Welcome to Sacred BirthWork

Honoring the full circle of your becoming

Vanessa Ixchel Fernandez, a full spectrum doula and quantum birthkeeper who centers who work around holistic & spiritual care.

I AM

I am Vanessa Ixchel Fernandez, a full-spectrum birth keeper devoted to supporting individuals and families through the transformative rites of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss. Humbled every day by this sacred work, I continue to take the seat of the student—guided intuitively by the Ancestors who walked before me and those who will one day follow the blueprints we leave behind.

My journey into birthwork began long before I consciously chose the path. The Grand Midwives of the South name it “a calling”—and I now recognize it has been with me since birth. It began in the womb of my mother, who carried me as her fourth child, inviting me into a space of unconditional love and inner knowing from the start.

Born in New Jersey to Guatemalan immigrant parents, I carry their sacrifices and resilience in all I do. Their legacy grants me the privilege of offering care rooted in tradition, reverence, and deep love for life. The full cycle of life—birth, death, and everything in between—has always fascinated me. Even as a child, I felt the quiet pull to serve life’s most sacred transitions.

I am deeply grateful for the love and support of my family, who have believed in my vision through every twist of the path, and for the soul tribe I’ve cultivated along the way—kindred spirits, fellow healers, artists, and truth-seekers who remind me that we are not meant to walk alone. I believe that community is the key to living a sovereign life—one where we are resourced, held, and empowered to lead with authenticity and heart.

A Medicine Woman's Prayer

I will not rescue you.
For you are not powerless.
I will not fix you,
For you are not broken.
I will not heal you,
For I see you, in your wholeness.
I will walk with you through the darkness,
As you remember your light.

Testimonials

Where do I start? Ixchel is a powerhouse full of treasures, she exceeded all of my expectations and then some! Not only did she provide and prepare me with useful information & advice throughout the journey, but she also supported me with bodywork and reiki before and during labor.
While she supported me, she also supported the midwives and even managed to take amazing photos throughout the birth process and created a heartfelt video as a keepsake.
Last but not least, she encapsulated my placenta and made beautiful artwork with the placenta and the umbilical cord, as another keepsake. I was so blown away by all of her talents. Having her was the best decision I made.

God bless you Ixchel, thank you so much for all of your hard work and love

Embrace your transformative journey with our dedicated offerings. We invite you to explore our scheduling process, thoughtfully designed to ensure a seamless experience. Please review the essential details that will guide you in preparing for this sacred ceremony.

Cyclical Work Rhythm: As part of my commitment to sustainable, heart-centered care, I honor my body’s natural rhythms and work cyclically. This means I do not schedule regular services on days 1–3 of my menstrual cycle, with the exception of birth attendance, in order to rest and restore.

This practice allows me to show up fully present, grounded, and energetically aligned in my work, which I believe benefits everyone I serve. I appreciate your understanding and support of this rhythm-based approach to care.
